February 14

Valentine's Day. In Patagonia. On a beach. Overlooking the northern tip of the Southern ice field. Can this be real life?? Yesterday we paddled in rough conditions through the icebergs. High winds, rain, and broken rudders: an equation for cold hands and sore arms. We decided to camp on this amazing beach that is a new landscape for our group. We are on a tundra/rocky hillside with the glacier in clear view (about 5 miles away). This place is so unreal that often times I find my brain struggling to process the reality of where I am and what I am seeing with my own two eyes. I, Annie Tomlinson, from the 'burbs of Denver, am looking at the southern ice field in Patagonia... Nope, still can't believe it.
